Chasing spark issue on 79 115. I pulled the 2 stator wires off the rectifier (both black) and have no voltage between them which seems wrong to me. I also have .01 ohms between them is this normal or the wrong way to test?

Outboard ignition . com or CDI electronics have test procedures for the older Chryslers.

I tried looking there but I couldn't find anything about my type of stator with just the 2 black wires.

Nick: Need more info. Motorola Magna Power distributor ignition or Prestolite CD ignition?

If it is Magna-Power, then the stator only makes AC voltage to charge the battery. NO voltage will be made until more than 1000 RPM is made and you must check with the lowest AC setting on the meter. Ohms will be very low since the winding are heavy and only 12-14 volts are produced.
