i have a 1977 maybe?? chrysler 8 hp motor i just bought i would like to know where i could find a serial or model number any ideas? thanks alot have a great day it has reverse

Look around the carburator somewhere near the inside lower cowling. Number will be like 82BH. I think they only made an 8hp between 1976-1979

My after market manual covers motors 69-89 indicates 8 hp Chrysler in 78 only.

According to this they made it a bunch of years. I was looking at Merc site and it only goes back to 74
