Good day all. I have a Chrysler 50 that will not crank at all. I am getting power from the switches to the motor BUT no crank. I tried jumping the starter and that doesn't work either. This is my 1st boat and I am hoping to get some advice as to where I can start trouble shooting. Thanks in advance

If you've jumped the battery direct to the starter (skipping the solenoid/relay as well?) and still got no crank, it's either a dead starter motor or a completely locked engine. If the motor turns by the flywheel etc then the starter motor is the most likely culprit. They can be taken apart and cleaned, though I've never done one myself so I can't help there, someone else may come along to assist

The 50 hp is new to me. What year is it? Please post side pics of the full motor with the hood off to see motor features. I have a Clymer Chrysler/Force Manual that has been handy servicing my 1970 35hp Chrysler attached. It seems odd that 35hp -55hp with single carbs are related except bore and stroke but 50hp are not mentioned in the conversations.

If you are saying the motor?s flywheel w/n turn using the key and starter? With the key of, have you tried to turn the flywheel by hand to know the motor is not locked due to mechanical reasons?

My 35hp attached:
