Re: Chrysler Ign Parts

The older Chrysler ignition switch came with 5 different keys. A B C D E you know what you had?
The Chrysler/Force used the same ignition. When they were bought by Mercury they started using Mercury ignition.
Probably gonna be easier to buy a new switch.

While original Chrysler ignition switches were very pretty with a square cover plate saying "Chrysler" The switch itself was outsourced and generic. Like jerry said--easier to simply buy a new switch at around 17 bucks.

ANY six pole push-to-choke ignition switch will do unless you are restoring to period correct conditions. Mercury switches can be used but all Of the newer ones I have seen are hard-wired with the terminals soldered.

I have seen the merc switches you speak off, the chrysler decal on mine is long worn off somewhere at mums I have a new bezel for a Chrysler Ign and some new old stock keys but no switches themselves, I gave alotg of old Chrysler stuff away a few years ago, wished I just left in the shed and forgot it was there, Im Chrysler mad be it cars or outboards so Id prefer the original key switch, bit like a Ford nut or Chev nut you just gotta have the right bit lol

Hi Mr Dropbear - I'm in Sydney and have a switch somewhere in the garage - let me know if you still need one and I'll dig it out and take a photo, cheers, Grant
