I have an 1979 chrysler 85 hp and I cannot get the starter to turn over unless I jump the solenode . Checked the ignition switch and it seems to be fine lights work and pump works radio is not working either. checked fuses and they are fine also checked for any broken wires and all look good. Still no power coming to the starter when I turn the key if I jump it it turns right over. Any help would be appreciated

Re: chrysler ignition problem

check to make sure your throttle is in neutral, or you can the saftey switch its located on the fuel pump side of the motor under the bottom carb, usually has two yellow wires going to it , you can try jumping the two terminals and then try your key and see if it starts don
