1979 Chrysler 75HP Model 759H9A. Hello everyone. I spent some good time looking on the net for wiring up the ignition switch. The diagrams are poor in quality and you can't see it. Anyone tell me what color of wire goes to the S terminal, the C, the B, the M, the I, and the other M terminal? Thanks again.

I assume you have the Motorola Magnapower system with distributor.
It is a battery CD system and the capacitors in the CD box are charged by the battery.

Red B terminal 12VDC power
Blue I terminal Ignition (12VDC in start and ON position)
Green C terminal Choke (12VDC when pushed in)
Yellow S terminal Start (12VDC in start position)

The M terminals are in use if you have a magneto system or the Prestyolite CDI system.
The M terminals are shorted together i OFF position, in all other positions they have no connections at all to any other terminals.

Yours have the points in the distributor?
I have a wiring diagram but can't load/copy to this site.
Send me an email and I'll get you a copy.

The best thing is get a "FACTORY" manual.
Clymer, Seloc help a little but nothing like the real thing.

Thank you Nordin and Jerry. Yes this is the optical distributer with the Magnapower box. I'll post results with how the person whom owns the boat has the switch wired up.

Update. The keyswitch was wired up like a person would wire a Force. Followed Nordin's directions and she started right up. I didn't run it long as it's raining buckets here today. Thank you for the replies and help everyone. Once the weather has turned good again, I'll check timing. This post is finished.

Force motors after the 1st year or so SHORTED the packs to kill the motor. Chrysler's with distributors turned the BLUE wire ON to run, and off to kill. So if someone "assumed" that your Chrysler was "just like a Force" then he was sadly mistaken. The switches were multipurpose, same as Mercury switches which would work with any of their systems, magneto or powerpack. With a Chrysler motor you don't need the black wire in the harness connected to the switch 'cuz you don't "ground" anything there! Now, if it were a 35 with magneto then the blue wire would be connected to an "M" terminal and the black to the OTHER "M" terminal. So, there's no ABSOLUTE rule for which color goes to which terminal on the switch. That confuse things even further?
