chrysler lower unit, reinstallation

70<br /> hp chrysler outboard, mod#707hf , sn#25435.<br />what is the secret to lining up the shift rod, water tube and drive shaft,all at once, when working alone.

Barrt...I gotta take one off tomato, but for the ones I have put on it seems that if you lift the motor all the way, get the shift rod thru the proper hole and ease it up as evenly as you can it just fits together easily enough...if the prop is on and in gear you can nudge it a little to mate up the drive shaft splines(I use anti sieze grease on the splines)and have the bolts and wench handy(the wench is for the beer)...you won't have a problem...just a Thought ;)

thanks for the reply, have been trying that for awhile, i have it in reverse gear, and the prop on. had the spline, and water tube in, bue the dhift rod was hung up. am useing marine never siese, on the spline and bolts, will keep trying.<br /> thanks again for your reply

to thought 101 thanks again for your reply.<br /> took a break, and tried again, and as you said the unit went together. will be out on the water soon
