I am not new here, have been a member for years, have not signed in for anything in a few years. My email changed and now I cannot recover my original account.

Anyway I have a 1966 50HP Chrysler. I need some pinion gears for the propeller gear box. I cannot find part numbers anywhere. I think I may see the gears on Ebay. But no way to tell if they are even right other than by just looking and guessing.

Whats a good salvage source? Or any other possibilitys you might use for older parts sources. Any parts books someone may have and be able to tell me the pinion gear numbers? I need the forward gear and the small one that the drive shaft goes through and mates with. Maybe a new Clutch dog also.

I think alot of HP from the 35 to 50 will work from the 60s era.

I need to get this going again. It is a Chrysler, but man other than the gear box. It a smooth runner.

I cannot even remember that. All I can go off of is my old email. That would work for recovery possibly. But I cannot get emails on it anymore,LOL

Forgot, anyone know which lower prop housing assemblies will swap. What HP and year ranges could be made to work with the rest of my upper unit.. A lot look the same but that means nothing I suppose. I cannot believe this stuff is so hard to find. There has to be thousands of these old Chryslers in the junk heap by now.

Local guy that sells used parts says he just throws them in the scrap iron. Stupid if he does. There has to be more than just me out there yet looking for parts for the old ones.

Lower unit from a 1980's Force 50 will bolt right up, so don't waste your time and money looking for gears.
