Want to replace ignition points on my '79 Chrysler 115 outboard Model 1159H9C Clymer's shop manual doesn't list the part. Which points do I buy? Thanks

Are you sure there are points in that distributor ???----Perhaps there are none.-----Why would you be looking for points ?---Motor not running properly ?

Good question. It doesn't idle without a bit of throttle. I posted about that today as well

If it runs?? then it probably doesn't need points???

Try setting up the idle.
Read the top 4 posts in this section.
It can help.
Possible the carbs need adjusting.

Appreciate the info. I'll check...the Dizzy? for two or one lead. Jerryjerry05, you could be right.

Dizzy = Distributor
breakerless ( preampifer) has two bolts coming out of the body with two leads,
one is blue, comes from fuse block on motor,
other is white/ black to CD unit,

Points has one white/black to CD unit,

preampifer has a "electric eye"
could be just dirty and needs a clean,

or could be knackered and need replacing,
or CD unit could be cactus as well,

aftermarket CD unit will work then,

there is a source available to troubleshoot ignition systems,
cdi something something lol

outboardignitiondotcom is the best place to look for troubleshooting the ignition.
CDI doesn't always seem to open.
