I've got a 1978 chrysler 105hp engine. Just got it back in the water from winterizing. The motor is running better now than the whole season last year, but ther is white smoke coming from the back of the engine. Is this normal or is my motor getting ready to blow? We used some left over gas from last season could this be the problem? thanks

Re: chrysler smoking

best guess is that it is either the gas or the fogging oil from the winter's nap. Check to be sure water is being discharged from the exhaust port on the leg (don't think there is a tell-tale on that motor, but could be wrong -- Mine was an earlier model.) Touch the top if the head to see if it is hot -- If too hot to touch, the cooling system isn't working (should be able to hold your hand on it for a few seconds).

and give it some new gas and oil....
