chrysler trim gauge

i have a chrysler 115hp with a trim gauge and 2 wire sender unit on the port, does anyone have a wiring diagram or know how to wire these up? ive tested with power and shorting and can get the needle to move both ends so it works (unless the sender is buggered)
i am assuming one wire of the sender is earthed and one goes to the "s" terminal on the gauge
i have ignition and ground also wired from the gauge, any ideas people?

My experience is limited but as no one else has answered: The trim sender uses a variable resistor (potentiometer) mounted on the transom clamp and turned by a wire lever to measure the position of the trim. Thus, you must sent 12 volts to the resistor and measure the return voltage. The sending unit is not grounded. The gauge however is given 12 volts for the light from the light switch. You run a wire from the "I" terminal on the ignition switch back to the sending unit and a return wire from the sending unit to the "S" or signal terminal on the gauge. The gauge is grounded through a common ground. Thus return voltage is measured by the gauge which is nothing more than a simple voltmeter--signal to ground.

Once you mount the sending unit, you must adjust the arm that contacts the engine yoke so the gauge reads minimum when the trim is tucked all the way in.

You must take power from the "I" terminal so that the system is off and not using any power unless the engine is running or the key is in the run position. If you power from the "B" terminal it will always be on and will drain the battery during non-running periods. G'day mate.

I don't want to hijack a thread, but I have a OMC tilt/trim gauge- will that work?
