It will likely happen again unless a) you clean up the flywheel bore and crankshaft bore (use fine lapping compound, toothpaste, etc. to lap the the two w/o the key in. Then clean thoroughly w/ no trace of oil or compound remaining. Replace key (make sure the key and the keyways are true and undamaged) and b) torque the flywheel nut to spec.
