I am in the process of revamping my FWC system........replacing the manifold, flushed out the H/E, replaced water pump in outdrive. When I removed the old manifold I checked to see if it was clogged, it wasn't....

I am considering replacing the circulating pump.
How often does this fail? It wasn't leaking.

Most lasted longer than the rest of the boat. I would use the old one. Keep an eye on it, you'll know when it needs changed...

i don't know the answer to yer question. but since i got a 165 too i'm interested in yer problem. i'm thinking that the water pump is pretty much a houseing, a shaft going thru a bush. impeller on one side. pully on the other. if it ain't leaking the bushing seal is ok i would think. suppose ya can't rule out a broke impeller blade, or perhaps blockage from crud in the in and out hose connections, do ya think that's what has happened? or something else.(sorry, i been following yer old posts on running hot, waiting to find out what yer gonna do)do ya still have the manifold in the closed side of the circut?
have ya replaced the manifold yet? man that thing is mighty heavy. i got me a ppt one in the mail the other day too. waiting for the weather to break so i can be ontoit. darn weather.......i got spring fever bad.......

tony

i do a lot of things that require trial and error to get working

i usally try to look around at things that might be close to what i am trying to do to learn as much as i can about what works

in your case you want to do a full system as best as i no there is no one past or present that is able to cool a full system with the water flow from a alpha drive pump they all seam to use a larger motor driven raw water pump to get the increased water flow needed

your pretty close now running at 200 at wot and not going higher to me it seams to be the best place to make and inprovement to get down to the 180 you need to run at

tommays

I replaced the manifold yesterday........am going to try it again in the FWC circuit.....if it still gets too hot I might replumb around the manifold. I think I might remove the circ pump for an inspection..........but not today.......kinda s**ty out.... :(
