A much more productive way to catch the 'Dads is to wade shallow creeks and start turning over rocks. Place a small mesh net behind the rock on the downstream side before you flip the rock so they swim into it, or just catch them with your hands.

You'll see what I mean after you've had the trap out for awhile, you'll only catch a handful at a time in the trap unless you get real lucky.

Re: Clarks Hill Crawfish?

Thanks for the advice, I tried a small creek way in the back of a secluded cove with lots of vegetation around, but I believe this was a creek that was formed from the water level being high, "nonflowing" I guess no luck there. There really aren't alot of rocky creeks nearby, not by boat anyways. Other than that, the bridge that's nearby is about 500 yards long and all around the bridge is about 50 ft of water depth, but the entire bridge is sided with large rocks that go down who knows deep! I was thinking that this would be a haven for the little critters, lots of baitfish, good clean water! Plenty of places to hide, I'm going up from Aiken in a little while, I'll put my trap by the bridge and let you guys know how it goes when I get back on Thursday! Also, I'll try to chart some creek destinations when I'm messing around with the map tonight! Thanks
