This is just the thoughts about class (CA) action law suites and not actual ones other then to use as points of interest. As a non-attorney and have an understanding that lawyers like CA's because if they do win, they get to get paid first before the pie gets divided up further.
So in a settlement and the award is 100 Mil, the lawyers get to come in and show their cost. There can be several law firms and have as many lawyers on the case with billable hours. Hours can be from 50 to 500 or more an hour. The latest Pharma case has 21 firms which made 450 depositions all going for their cut.
Then when it get divided out to the counties there can be much less, sometime even less then half
