1988 mercury classic 50 #3 cylinder not firing compression check132 all 4 cylinders ran 10 min. Rechecked128 psi #1.2.4 #3 still 132 changed plug switched coil still not firing anyone have ideal what to check next thanks

Check the wiring from the Stator & Trigger (you will have to peel back the wrap/tape till all wiring is exposed)
Carefully inspect the wires for broken area(s) common spots are is the section under the fly-wheel & close to the Trigger-plate
Also inspect every wire-terminal on the switch-pack

Stator checked out bad blue to blue white. Open circuit replaced stator all 4 cylinders firing. How to close post thanks
