What is the best way to strip out all the rust and scale from my Manifolds. They are in too good of shape to toss and replace and I am FW cooled so corosion is not a huge issue. it is on a 4.3L VP 1996 Vintage. I am thinking a dip of some kind but want some opinions.

Thanks

Muriatic acid......
Follow the directions......
However, i would replace ten year old manifolds.....
You never go out on the sound?
If they have enough scale to clog the risers it will keep happening & they will fail.....JK

All that Rust,+ Scale,........ That Used to be your Manifolds..............

I'd Bet that your Motor is Freshwater Cooled,........

I'd Also Bet that your Manifolds are Raw Water Cooled,.....
The Risers AnyWay......

They are in too good of shape to toss and replace

Not by what you've explained they're Not.............

Risers,........... And Manifolds are Replaced,........... Not Cleaned........

98% of the metal is still there, this is simply surface rust and a small bit of scale. I never go in Salt Water, my boat is too small for the Puget Sound. So it is Lake water cooled at all times.

If the manifold/riser passages aren't clogged, I wouldn't even bother.
