cleaning dust/dirt off of motor

Anyone have any suggestions? I took my boat on a long dusty road to get to a great fishing hole and now the motor is really dirty. A friend says to wash it with the hose, but I'm not so sure...Thanks, MB

The hose washing shouldnt cause any problems. No high pressure wash though.

if you want to do a great job i do mine with engine degreaser then hose it off after that i oil and grease all fittings work great

Yeah that spraycan degreaser seems to work better on boat motors than cars. I try to not spray the ignition components much though.
