Cleaning Gasket sealer

I installed a water pump on my evinrude 135. I had to take it off and I had the form-a-gasket on my hands. I just read a post that if there is any in the pump it's bad news. How would I clean it off?<br /><br />Greg Hodges

if there is any on the implellar itself don't worry about it. The "form a gasket" is silicon and should peel off pretty easy. Don't panic your okay as long as you did not dump a tube full into the cooling system.<br /><br />Think of all the garbage that gets circulated through the water jacket and it survives...sand, mud, seaweed....<br /><br />Bob
