cleaning out carb of old gas

I just bought a used merc 2003 25hp big foot four stroke. It was not run out of gas at the end of the year and I believe the carb is gummed up. Never owned or worked on a four stroke. Any suggestions?

If you feel capable get a manual and clean it. If you don't find a repair shop

the job is do able, but, the carbs have lots of small parts. and several jets to plug up with crap. had mine apart lots of times ,2000, 30 hp 4 stroke, 3 carbs, use seafoam in gas and will help clean and stabilize carb and fuel. ps. the manual is worth the money, good luck ron
