Re: cleaning the toons

I used Aluma Bright to remove the oxidation on my lift and on the motor mount on my 09 Premier. The stuff works great on removing the oxidation. You have to be sure that you apply it evenly otherwise you'll have different variations/etching on the surface. I then bought a quart of sharkhide and coated the lift. The product is supposed to prevent oxidation but I'll have to wait until fall to see how it holds up. On the toon I purchased the coating/polimer/wax that Premier uses on the toons and now that matches the toons.. A quart of that stuff ran me $100.00 but I am uncertain how much you would need to completly coat both tubes.

I got some ToonBrite from Bass Pro shops. You spray it on and rinse. I found that brushing it after letting it sit for a few minutes was good. It was about $30 for a gallon and that will do mine twice. Some local people use Future floor wax on the toons after cleaning them and they swear by it.

I recommend using the PINK AC coil cleaner & following the mixing instructions on the jug, One word of CAUTION!! Use protective gloves & eye goggles as it has 2 types of acid in it & it WILL burn the skin if you are not careful. Spray it on mixed 3 parts water to 1 part cleaner & work about a 4-5 ft area depending on how dirty your logs are using a garden stype sprayer of a hand held bottle sprayer rated for chemicals. LET IT FOAM for about 4-5 minutes then just rinse it off with LOTS of water or you can use a high pressure washer too. You can also take a stiff nylon brush & scrub the area which will help remove the crud as well. WATER is the main ingredient for delution so don't be selfish useing it. You will be amazed as to the results you get using the PINK cleaner. You can buy it at any AC supply house for around $15.00-$20.00 a gallon. ONE gallon if mixed according to directions will clean all your logs. If they won't sell it to you over the counter find someone who works in the AC field & see if he will get you a gallon. Most supply houses don't like selling to the general public & if they do its FULL RETAIL PRICE. Its EPA approved but like I said, BE CAREFUL using it.
