I know there should'nt be a water line!!! But that being said when I bought my boat it had been in the water of a stained lake all summer(see pic). I tried a whole array of cleaners and nothing really made a dent. Then one day I was in a Family Dollar Store and saw something called The Works Lime And Scale Cleaner. ($1.00). So I thought what the hell. This stuff is amazing!!!. As I would wipe it on before I could get back to scrub it off. To my surprise the scum was already gone. I almost started giggling.002.jpg092.jpg

Re: Cleaning the water line

Just make sure you wash it off really good when you are done since that is a weak acid.

I trailer mine but still get alot of water spots and a small water line and white vinegar works really well to get them off, here again, a weak acid.

ALWAYS completely wash off ALL THE CLEANER. As soon as the stain disappears.

Ya know oddly enough it doesnt do anything for the black marks from the rollers on the trailer. Magic Eraser does the trick on them. But I'm gouig to change the black rollers for the yellow gum rollers this winter

Re: Cleaning the water line

Plastic smudges are usually NOT removed by any acid or akali cleaners.

Friction puts it on. Friction takes it off.
Good call Riski.
