Hi,
I have a 1983 10hp Honda. Let me start by saying the previous owner said he just had the impeller replaced a year or two ago. At first I was getting very little water from the pee tube (a few drops). Pulled the hose, cleaned it & checked water coming out of thermostat housing? Had decent water coming out (not shooting out 5 feet as someone had suggested). Put pee hose back on and now have constant stream although not real high pressure.

Someone in an earlier post had said something about the 90 angle in some tube or part that may get plugged as well. (Where 3 tubes come together?) Where would I find this, or what other tubes or parts can I get to to make sure they are unobstructed? There has to be other connections/tubes where it connects water inlet from the lower unit. Thanks!

The easiest way to clear the water tube is to blow back with compressed air while the engine is running on a flushing attachment,do this a couple of times and it should fix the problem.

Keep in mind that that pee tube is a comfort item and no indication of how this engine is accually cooling. It's nice to see ,but the big question here is,Are you getting hot?The best way to clear obstructions from that powerhead is to remove the gearcase and blow a hefty charge of compressed air back through the water tube.If you get to that point you may as well replace the impeller and certainly take a hard look at the housing as well.

The impeller should be replaced every few years as a maintenance item...not a repair item.
