Clear coat/Gel coat???

I just bought a 1982 Performance Judge, an old 16 foot bass boat. The fiberglass is in pretty good shape, the floors have been replaced, transom good etc, but the clear coat has peeled off the interior of the boat and when I put my arms on it I get fiberglass in it and it itches.
It is brown with sparkles in it, and I just want the easiest way to fix it.

I know nothing about fiberglass but if it does exist, would like something I could brush on instead of spray. I have access to a airless spray gun but dont want to go through taping everything up and would rather use a brush. It doesnt have to look great, this is my first boat that I payed 500 bucks for it so I just need something that will last a couple years.

If you want cheap and easy, then you could use some rattle can clear or some Rustolium clear, both fit that bill. Its not going to be the best fix and may look blotchy, but should last a few years and much longer if kept covered.

You can also use a solid color paint over the flake, sanding primer will be needed in this application though.

Thanks man, I sanded the boat down and got 1 coat on it. It looks alot better already. I used a duplicolor clear enamel, they had an enamel and laquer I wasnt sure of the difference.
I can run my hand over it and stay fiberglass free now, but I may do 1 more coat just to get some of the blotches out.
Not bad for 10 bucks though, thanks for the info.
