Welcome to Iboats.

I dont know how well it would hold up without a primer.

yarcht doctor is right - you would need a primer or pigmented base coat under a clear 2 part LPU coating.

krylon fusion makes a clearcoat in a spray can, the directions say not to primer

Your serious ??

They also suggest no prep ..

"Krylon Fusion for Plastic, Clear Gloss:
  • 12 oz
  • The no-prep, Superbond paint for plastic
  • Bonds easily to most plastics, PVC, resin and more
  • No sanding or priming needed
  • Indoor/outdoor use
  • Dries in 15 minutes or less
  • Fully chip resistant after 7 days
  • Features the EZ Touch 360 degree Dial spray tip"

Well good luck with that on your boat LOL..

Actually the Fusion is great for some plastic applications ( like plastic engine vents or AC vents where you have Plastic ).

Application of spray can Fusion Clear is probably not a good idea for a full blown clear job.

I can call up Krylon if you like..
