Clearcoat sealant...

Hi guys.

I need your thoughts on the absolute BEST sealant for clear coat on an automobile.

The lady's Sebring tends, for some reason, to get water spots on the center of the hood that really resist removal by washing or waxing. I've used Turtle Wax Carnuba and Nu-Finish - both excellent products for shining up auto paint - but they still don't resist these spots like I think they should. Last time the spots sat there through the winter, I had to buff them off...! Doesn't seem to occur on the rest of the car, so it's obviously something about the clear coat at that particular location. Regardless, I don't want to repaint that hood if I can reasonably avoid it.

Is there something else out there that will seal up that clear coat better than commercial car wax?

Most of the sealants are snake oil ;)

Good quality wax applied on a clean car. I clean mine with a clay bar then wax. I usually wax 2-3 times per year and maintain a good finish.

Those water spots could be from anything and most likely acid rain. I don't think you can prevent them but you can keep up with them.
