Can someone that knows props explain the advantages or disadvantages of Cleaver style props? Also, through hub and over hub configurations.

Re: Cleaver prop

LubeDude, You're asking a Question,
That Needs an Encyclopedia to Answer.............. :D
Well, The Short(Very) Story.........

Cleavers are used in a Surfacing mode... The Solid, Straight Trailing Edge, helps keep it Hooked Up, While spinning in Air,+ water......

Thru-Hub is what Most of the props you see are....
It gets the exhaust out of the way,+ Quiets it down......

Over-Hub is used, in Some instances, for Helping it to Ventilate, at low speeds, Because it's pitch is too high....
Controlled Slipage.....
Then it Hooks Up,+ You FLY .............. ;)

Re: Cleaver prop

Im asking the question as I have a chance to get an over the hub four blade cleaver and Im wondering if I want to mess with it. It might be fun to have if Im just going to take to boat out and race around. Right now with a regular four blade Im throwing a roostertail you wouldnt beleive, (Looks like a jet boat), so I know Im running the prop pretty high. My water preasure is good so I thought I might try the over the hub cleaver. If I do not like it I guess I can always Ebay it.

Thanks for your reply! Thats pretty much what I thought anyway.
