I have 2 Merc 50's one a 1976 and the other 1977.<br />When I put the 76 in reverse and turn the prop opposite rotation in makes a muffled clicking sounds now on the 77 doing the same thing the clicking is very audible, is something wrong?<br />I just bought the 77 and dont kow much about the motor. I dropped the Lu to change the impeller since the fellow told me it had been sitting a yr or so. After putting it back together was checking and heard the loud click. Checked LU oil and it barely had any in so replaced oil and still the loud click. Is this normal?<br /> Thanks in advance for input.

Glad to hear that JB. I've got 73 Merc 850 and mine does the same thing until I push the control down into more on the console. Was beginning to wonder if I put the LU back on wrong
