I just got this to push my 14' metal fishing boat. Paid $50.. Looks like it has been well taken care of.. While rading some og the other remarks about oil to gas ratio's I got alittle confused.. This motor is - I'm guessing a 1975 But the starting instructions and all the print about adjusting lean and rich gas while idleing are all very clear.. I would think it was almost new its in such good shape... Anyway, the instructions say to add 3 oz of SAE 30 to 1 gallon of gas. I have no idea what ratio this equals but since its printed right on the tank I kinda have to go with it... Are their better safer mixes?

Does anyone know the year based on the model and seriel above?
looks like it leaks gas from the bottom of the bulb on the carb from some kind of spring pin that must allow a person to let water out and fill it with gas.. any sudjestions on how to get that to stop..

Also, It has no spark as far as I know.. I took the spark plug out and hooked it up to spark plug cable and nothing... I even stuck my finger in it to make sure!!! No Shocking event... Does anyone know what the problem might be... I called CEPCO(formerly Clinton Engines) 563-652-2411 and left a message... The Recording said there are still parts available and they would get back to me if I left my #... Have not heard from them yet...

I would sure appreciat all info you all may have,,, Thanks,
