never had one of these, but aren't they air cooled
motors that were also used on lawnmowers? think
you can get powerhead parts at the local mower
repair shop. seal kit is another story...
good luck,
M.Y.

Heinz,
CEPCO, formerly known as Clinton engines, has most parts you would need and I have the manual for mine if it matches I can make you a copy. CEPCO's information is 1-563-652-2411. They are difficult to get ahold of, but I did find that they are usually there between 9 am and 3 pm central time, unless they are just simply gone that day.

I love this little engine. I wouldn't mind getting one or more additional of these. They would make great little gifts for my sons. I could rebuild them and before too long they will be needing them. Anyone that has em lyin around that wanna junk em throw em my way or tell me about them.

Thanks for the idea M.Y., I think I will hunt down a mower shop today and see what I can find. We actually have a marine shop nearby, BUT they are proud of their parts.

Re: Clinton Magneto assembly solid state

A little bit of an update here. I have spent the better part of the entire day today going thru replies to e-mails and calling "antique outboard" parts shops and am finally coming to the conclusion that this motor is nothing more than a boat anchor now. NOONE has this part or knows anyone that would have one NOR is there any sort of replacement. At this point, I am considering parting it out so I can purchase a trolling motor. Anyone need parts? I gave $150 for it. If I could come close thru parting it out to those that need the parts, I would be happy.

Antique outboard shops are not where to find the
parts you want. The power head on your motor
was used for a number of applications. You need to
find a small engine shop.or watch Ebay.Unfortunately these motors are limited in what you and they can do.Many are used and abused.
With luck proper care and patience many use these
sucessfully but they are not for me.

ditto spike.
buddy, call the mower/small engine repair shop.
antique outboard parts = BIG $! way more of those
powerheads ended up in applications other than
marine motors.

Re: Clinton Magneto assembly solid state

Ok, went to THE place that would know about what I would need. Turns out thhis guy has a Clinton powered lawn mower of his dad's and has worked on clintons all his life. This place is the only reasonably local Auto/Marine/Small engine place around for a long ways. He knew exactly what I had and what I needed. He called all over the country for a replacement or anything that would work. Nothing. He suggested I buy an Evinrude, Mercury or Johnson and get rid of this one. He did say they were good engines, just not many parts left in existance. He did have a few Clinton mower parts, but nothing close to what I needed. Thanks for the help guys! Anyone have a smaller motor for sale reasonably :)
