Re: Clunk when shifting into reverse
It's probably a combination of problems in the upper gear box. There is a brass spacer on the bottom of the vertical shaft that gets bent over the circlips in time, along with the shift mechanism ramps getting worn down on the forward side allowing it slip into gear easier.<br />The bent over brass spacer usually allows double or triple the allowed tolerance of .004 to .020 gap. <br />Getting it fixed requiers replacing the washer and reshimming the gear box. The shift mechanism, if the ramp is worn down, will have to be replaced.
