I need general information about when fresh seafood is available at the different coastal regions and at what times of the year. Being in the mid-west, I think I could make some  cash  hauling seafood from coastal regions. An old friend used to go to Louisiana (sp?) and bring back these huge shrimp that would cost you 4X as much around here. Is it hard to fing large quantities of FRESH seafood to the ordinary Joe? Anyway, just need some rough ideas. Thanks! ;)

It depends on what you are looking for. Major sea food supply houses that operate on the Texas, Luisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida coasts can supply truck loads of various sea food (shell fish, fish, oysters from Appilatch, etc. if you can set up the logistics well in advance. At first you have to operate all cash until you build a relationship with the, unless you are a large national carrier with good reputation and sterling credit.

Go to sea food markets and restaurants and see what they want that they can't get, what they want fresh that they can't get fresh, and what they get that they would like to get cheaper. Then see what is available from the boats. Remeber, prices vary each time the boats return from the sea.
