I have heard many wonderful things about the coasters there, giant, lighting fast coasters that are state of the art and consistently ranked in the biggest and scariest coasters IN THE WORLD ...

Has anyone been there lately to confirm this?

Cedar Point is a great amusement park. I love the coasters there. One thing though is they seem to be having problems with the new coaster (Top Thrill Dragster) My wife went there yesterday and it was closed all day. Some other friends have been there throughout the year and for some it was closed, others open. They have plenty of other rides there though that are great.

P.S. This is why I don't ride rollercoasters.

Below is from the CedarPoint Website
07/21/03

Dear Valued Guest,
I regret to inform you that Cedar Point’s newest roller coaster, Top Thrill Dragster, is not currently in operation because of mechanical problems.

I understand that this situation must be very frustrating for you, as it is for us. Please let me apologize for any disappointment you may feel because your expectations are not being met.

The manufacturer and our maintenance division have been working around the clock to correct the problems, and we will have the ride back in operation as soon as possible.

Until then, I invite you to enjoy our 67 other rides, including 15 more world-class roller coasters, award-winning live entertainment and other attractions.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,
CEDAR POINT
Daniel Keller
Vice President and General Manager

oh come on, dont be such wussies ...

after all, after the first 86 feet, you stop accelerating and hit was is known as terminal velocity

well, until you hit the ground, but youll be so busy screaming I doubt youll notice!

hehehe

as always, a little wander thru my memories ...

Test Track had just opened in Disney, and I was chomping at the bit to get on there

the ride, unfortunately was experienceing problems

Condolances were expressed to yours truly, but I laughed and said, are you kidding? that beast of a Regal out in the parking lot would eat that test track car for lunch, it was FAST, seriously fast, way faster than any rental car I have ever driven, including an SS Impala with a vette motor, nearly as fast as my old 429 Mustang .... and lemme tell ya, it got WAY more than six miles to the gallon, lol

it was knocking off 0 - 60 in just over six seconds, and handled as flat as a slot car, loved it, how a 3.8 liter made for the masses commuter special can be such a monster I dont know

but I sure as helll hated giving it back!!!
