Hello, This is my first Post, I'm trying to help my Brother-In-Law (his boat).
Anyway, there are a few problems with this 2003 Cobalt 220.
It has the Volvo Penta 5.7 GXI in it....
The 1st problem is the starter...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...
We have never gotten stranded though, it seems if you play with the shifter enough, eventually it will crank right up.
I'm thinking there is a fine adjustment on this that goes to a relay, I just don't know enough about this boat or any boat for that matter. I was an auto tech for 15 years at a dealer (Ford), but boats are not my forte...
Any help on this would be much appreciated....

Thank you all, Rich:)

P.S. Should I start a new thread for all the other concerns such as tachometer etc.....

Re: Cobalt 220 Starter intermittent problem

Have a look at this thread for your starting problem. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=167035

Going to move this over to the Volvo Forum.

Other questions should be put in the proper forum, and yes a different thread. Especially if it's about a completely different subject than your starting problem. Group too many unrelated problems in one thread and it gets confusing real fast.

You're in it now. I moved it... Mods can do that.
