Cobalt w/ 4.3L Mercury Need Help!

Just bought a 1986 Cobalt bowrider with a 4.3L Mercuriser I/O with the Alpha One. The problem is the that the outdrive will not go up unless you use the trailer switch but the down switch works just fine. Also the gauge doesnt work either for the trim. Also how hard is it to replace the water inlet hose form the outdrive? any tips or information will greatly be apprectiated!!!!

Ayuh,... The Odds are the wires for the trim limit switch,+ the trim sender are Rotten...
You need to go in DEEP to change 'em,...
But,...
That Hose you wanta change is Just as Deep...
You should also change ALL the rubber parts,+ the lower shift cable while you have the bell housing off...
