I was extremely busy this fall and I was worried about a freeze up so I pulled the impeller, drained the block and manifold, pulled and drained all the hoses on my 1988 cobra 3.0. Well, now I want to start it up with the sta-bil ethanol treatment and fog the engine. Question. Do I need to hook up all the hoses and run water through it or can I get away with starting it, letting it run for a minute or two to get the treated gas through the carb, and fogging the engine dry? Then I can change the oils in the outdrive and engine. Opinions?

it'll take more than 2 minutes to get the oil warm enough to change easily if you are pumping it out the dipstick. You'll be best off to run water through if idling more than a few seconds.
I'd just do it in the spring.

You can pull the spark plugs if you want to fog. Unless the engine oil is absolutely disgusting, a few months of sitting with used oil won't hurt anything.
