Re: cobra outdrive shifts hard
I have an 88 bayliner 24.5 footer. I thought it was the shift linkage, thought it was the shifter, then thought it was the cable. Come to find out it was the lower end gears. Once the lower end gears were replaced it shifts smooth as glass. Seems the guy who had it before me must have hit a big stump or rock and damaged the gear that moves the foward and revese gears in the lower end by the prop. Cost me about 900 bucks to replace.
