Is there any way, from a cobra outdrive model number, to decipher what year or size the drive is off of? thanks in advance.

The model and serial numbers of the vertical drive are stamped on the plate located on the vertical drive, this number is used to identify the vertical drive and to match it with the engine, so your answer is yes.

Thank you for the reply. I assumed there would be a correlation between outdrive model numbers and engine sizes but wanted to know if any of our learned friends on this site knew what the model numbers actually designated.

Each model # represents a specific size and year, you just have to have the model # info to cross reference them in the documentation.
