I anm going to convert from points to electronics 4 cylinder 470. How do I determine what the resistance is. The directions say 3.0 ohms. How do I test for this? Do I measure a wire? The coil has 0 ohms. There is mention of a resistance wire or ballast resistor. Coul dsomeone advise so I don't fry the electronics on first turn of the key?
Thanks for the forum.

Are you using Pertronix? Trying to use the existing coil or a new one??

Dave, you can use your existing coil without modification. You ave to run a separate 12volt lead to power the Pertronix.

There is probably a resistor wire connected to your existing coil, lowering the voltage to about 9volts.

Hello....this is the 3rd post you've started for the same question, do you not read the answers people put in or do you just go and open another post  people are trying to help you and if you don't understand their answers then ask again...within the same post don't keep opening up new ones.
