I have a 1973 Evinrude with a 1977 rebuilt powerhead on it. The coils on the motor are working just fine except the plug wires keep pulling out of the connector at the spark plug. I keep having to cut alittle bit off the wire to clean the wire up to be able to put the end back on. Well....over time the plug wires are getting too short. The motor I have has the sealed type coils on it where the plug wires are sealed in the coil. Is there a way I can make up my own plug wires using wire core type wires. I was wondering if I could cut the wires on my coils leaving about 2" coming out of the coil and connect the new wire to it. I just don't like the "spring type" connectors that I'm using now. I hate to trash perfectly good working coils because of the wires.

Thanks,
Jason
