working on yam 90 please explain how the starter assembly works This is yamahas description of what i would consider a cold start primer.<br />Should the plunger retract with pos 12 volts applied to it. I get voltage to this when cranking the engine over. any ohm specs for the winding? reading about 8 ohms! took this unit off of engine applied 12vdc nothing happens except the coil starts to heat up and its drawing about 1.5 amps should the plunger retract or does this unit operate differently from what i am thinking (maybe just shorted)?
