Cold start runs rough for short time

Hey Guys, Im new to this site and could use some help. I went to start up my Volvo Penta 430 4.3l a few weeks ago the the first time for the season. It fired right up with out a hitch, but it idled pretty rough for the first couple minutes, then ran as smooth as silk. I figured from sitting for 6 months it just had to blow the cob webs through. I let it run till full temp and shut it down and pushed it back into the garage. So I went and started it again today, and had the same issues. Im starting to think its not cob webs anymore and wondering if it just needs a new set up plugs, and wires. Or maybe the carb cleaned.

What are you guys thinking it might be?

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Seein's it clears up after it warms up, I'm thinkin' a choke adjustment might be where to look,...

Wouldn't hurt to pull the plugs, look 'em over, 'n do a compression test,...
Check the distributor cap for corroded contacts,...
Meter the wires, they're probably Ok,..
Change the oil, 'n filter,...
Pull the fuel filter, Inspect it's Contents, 'n throw a new 1 on,...

Thank you for the reply.I figured it was carb related. Thinking I might need to replace the u joints too. Got a little bit of knocking noise from the outdrive but goes away when I tilt or trim. Is that fairly simple or a big job? I plan to order a mechanic book.
