when first started my 2000 150 optimax revs up and down for a few minutes before settling down to a normal idle. What would cause this?

Re: cold start

Air in the fuel, broken or chipped reeds, failed direct injectors. Have your dealer check the fuel/air pressures also, there might be a problem there.

Good Luck! :)

Re: cold start

The Optimax warms itself up by advancing the timing on its own. This generally lasts for 30-45 seconds.

If you have a timing light, you can see this happen. It should stay constant until it warms up, then drops back. If you get a fluctuation in the Timing. You will most likely have to go see a dealer and get it hooked up to the DDT.

TMD
