Hey Herr, I live in New Mexico and have done some nice backpacking and fishing in CO. Last summer I went to Telluride and fished at Trout Lake. Very nice lake filled with rainbows and cutthroat trout. Around the Telluride area there are many more high alpine lakes to explore. Vallecito and Lemon Reservoir near Durango are very nice places. There is also nice backpacking in that area. Emerald and little Emerald lakes are beautiful. Around Leadville are many more great lakes to explore. I have a recreation map of Colorado and this is how I have found out about the areas that I've been too. Colorado has so many great places to explore. I try to make it there most summers to check out new places. Take it easy
