Hi i decided to start a new thread instead of adding on a seperate question onto my Alternator question thread...
I hope this is the correct way to do it, i dont want it to seem like spam.

My question is... and i dont remember for a hard fact but someone might have told me this already (don) but i would like to double check.

For my Engine AQ130D, It came with the Flywheel Cover (bell housing?) for the AQ130D, but from the plaque on the Engine it states AQ130D/280 ... So that is supposed to mate with the 280 outdrive, but i have the 270 outdrive that i am currently rebuilding (paint, reseal)
I know that the AQ130A,b,c used 270, and 250... My question is, will i have a problem when it comes to full assembling the engine and outdrive into the boat? or should everything match right up...

Thanks for your help in advance.

Were not all the components already installed on the boat when you got it?

Yes, that is the correct way to do it. It's a completely different question and has nothing to do with the alternator. Good Job.

Your engine doesn't care what transom shield it goes through. It would bolt up to a DP-E transom shield. Only problem you would have is matching up with an exhaust tube. that attaches to the transom shield.

If you have a 270 drive and transom shield, and an exhaust tube that will match up to your 130, then it should all work.
The problems occur where the helmet attaches to the upper gear housing clamp ring. There are 3 different types, and they don't work when mixed.

Re: Compatibility question for AQ130D

No unfortunately the components where not all together. I bought the boat with torn apart aq130c motor all rust and aq270 outdrive attached . I bought new motor aq130d motor alone. And than I was stupid and didn't know about iboatd and he resources such. As the manuals available to us. So when I was taking out the transom shield I busted it by pulling out the tilt motor without properly disassembling it and it broke a chunk off the transom shield where the tilt arm pokes out of the transom shield on he outdrive side of the transom. So I bought a new outdrive with transom shield for cheap. It didn't include the exhaust pipe but my old one still had it Attached so I think I'm safe as far as exhaust goes. I just wanted to make sure the aq130d with its bell housing mated well with the 270. Thank u all for ur help sorry for the inc orect spelling I'm at work using my iPhone so it's a pain to type
