Ok, ill start by stating this is our first experience with a boat, now down to the issue....

1993 Bayliner Capri....Origionally had a 4.3 mercruiser with alpha one outdrive....Now has a 5.0L with the same OD it had. It has a SS prop 25 pitch unsure of the diameter but its big enough in diameter that the previous owner removed the little fin from the outdrive that was above the prop to allow room to spin.

The problem is the boat hardly wants to come on plane....Really have to feed the throttle to get it to plane out....I feel that the prop is way too much pitch for the boat but again im a noob and just dont know. Top speed for the boat with this prop is 43 MPH. I bet were going 20 before it planes out??? What can we do to help here? The outdrive has a Hydrofoil but its inside the boat and not installed?

Any help here would be much appreciated?

Welcome,
We'll need you to answer the questions in "read this first" at the top of the prop
page. The Capris come in sizes as small as 14 ft.We'll need the rpm at 43.
You'll need an unusually high pitch to work with then 4.3 outdrive.
slow hole shot can be a boat issue, motor problem or a setup problem.
