I have a 2007 StarCraft 2000 Limited Deck Boat with a mercury engine. Last week it ran great, when we started it yesterday afternoon it sounded odd. Took it out on the lake and it did not have full power. I shut it off and trolled awhile and then restarted the engine and again would not go up to full power and sounded odd. I shut it off again and then noticed I had lost all power - fish finder, radio, nothing. I thought my battery went bad so took it out and put in a trolling motor battery - still nothing so put the trolling battery back and trolled back to the dock. Still have no power at all. I am thinking a main breaker or bad connection. Any ideas on where to start looking?
Thanks

Well Bulydog, :welcome: to iboats...

Seem you lost power and even swapping batteries did fix anything. So, do you have a fuse or circuit breaker at the battery box? That could be open and causing your problems. However, I think you have multiple issues and the result of other issues took the battery fuse or breaker out. So you may want to disconnect all the wires going to the battery and install them back on a good fully charged battery one at a time to see which circuit has the first problem. Once you find the initial problem, fix it. Then continue installed the wires back on the battery to verify there are no other problems there. You could have a rectifier or regulator problem with the engine as well. JMHO

Thanks for the info. I did check the fuses at the battery box, however I was on the lake and it was about 95 degrees with sweat running in my eyes. Hope to try to chase down all fuses this evening and check all connections.

FYI: Finally got to looking at my problem(s). Had battery tested and it is good. I found a main breaker that was tripped. It sets right behind the carb, so I am guessing it is there in case of fire it will kill all power to the boat. (I may have tripped it when I was looking for my other problem). Put water to the boat and started it up. Sounded OK, however will go drop it in the lake tomorrow and see if I still have limited power. Don't know why that would have fixed itself, however since I can't seem to win the lottery maybe the boat gods are looking down on me.
