Does this rule out the head gasket. Could not get it started yesterday without cranking for along time.

I should mention engine was cold/all plugs out/idle off. Could my 1 carb for all three cyl be the cuprit. Is a mercury change over to 3carbs poss.

Cann't do the carb. switch thing.<br />Need to check the compression warm for a accurate acessment. Sounds like your cold #'s are in the ball park so head gasket is probably not blown.<br />Noticed you've posted alot on this particular motor, think its time to unload your Force and get a solid motor that you don't have to constantly be messing with? <br />I did, my 1996 Force 75 is long gone and I'm very pleased with my new Mercury. Just call me "dclean" now :D Just a thought...
