Compression Test 1985, 50hp Merc

I need to do a compression check on a 1985, 50hp Merc. Any reason I can't use a digital compression guage?

This is the one I'm looking at:

Quite a nice test gauge. If you need one that fancy, it should work fine.

Since I don't use one daily, I chose the more simplistic generic (cheaper) variety and It has worked great.

Between $35-$50 for an analog one?

No matter how much $$$ you spend on one they all do the same job .... so it is up to you .... I have a cheap one and it works great, I rather use the money I saved on more fuel for my boat
