I'm at the point that I have the power head fully assembled and I wanted to run a compression test before attempting to start the motor.. I read through the service manual I have (clymer) and saw no reference to compression readings. Anyone know what I should hope to have? Will it be different on other cylinders?

Also, I purchased an impeller kit to replace the impeller. The cartridge insert replacement (SS cup) does not fit in the water pump housing, the tabs don’t line up. The water pump housing that was on the lower unit has the tabs parallel to one another; the replacement cup has them more like at 3 & 12 o’clock if my memory is correct. I took all the parts down to my local Yamaha parts guy and he thought the pump housing was out of a 200 or 250. I know it ran ok in the past, but I went ahead and ordered the correct pump housing.. Since I am not the original owner of the engine I have no idea where this came from… Am I wasting money and being over precautious?

P.S.
Thanks Rodbolt & Ray for you assistance on my last posts! I'm getting closer to getting back on the water!
